Enjoy the fruits of labour and plant Fig Brown Turkey in your garden. Figs are delicious tossed through salads, serve them with cheese or eat them straight off the tree. With the majority of figs; the riper the sweeter the flavour. Fig Brown Turkey will often bear two crops in a year with the second crop extending further into autumn. This variety produces purple-brown fruit with sweet pink flesh in summer. Figs thrive in Australia's 'Mediterranean' climate and are the ideal size for most backyards. They are best grown in well drained soils with full sun exposure. Mature trees tolerate cold and frost, however protection is needed for new plantings until fully established. Once established, Fig Brown Turkey is hardy, and requires minimal maintenance. It is one of the toughest fig varieties.
